# Sendblue — iMessage as a texting channel inside GHL (vetted 2026-08-12)

Source: vendor walkthrough transcript (YouTube setup guide) vetted line-by-line against TCPA / Apple / carrier mechanics. Status: **NOT INSTALLED** — concept approved, entry use case = meeting reminders. Tracked in the digital-outreach draft brief at `/root/.hermes/work/ghl/digital/DRAFT-AGENT-BRIEF-digital-outreach.md`.

## What it is

GHL Marketplace app (~32k installs) that switches a subaccount's texting from LeadConnector SMS to iMessage P2P. iMessage traffic does not traverse carrier SMS infrastructure, so A2P 10DLC carrier registration genuinely does not apply to the iMessage leg. Flat per-line/month pricing with unlimited conversations per line, vs the LC SMS per-segment meter (~$0.008–0.012/segment each way).

## Vetting table — verified vs vendor spin

| Claim | Verdict |
|---|---|
| iMessage bypasses A2P 10DLC | TRUE — different channel, carriers don't gate it |
| No A2P = no compliance exposure | FALSE — TCPA is federal law, applies to ANY commercial text regardless of channel; $500–$1,500 statutory damages PER TEXT. Even the vendor's own transcript says it's "not made for cold blasting strangers who never gave you permission" |
| Falls back to SMS for Android | TRUE — but that leg IS carrier SMS: an unregistered route gets filtered/blocked, or quietly needs A2P anyway. Mixed-device lists land back on the channel you were avoiding |
| Reliable long-term infra | RISK — P2P iMessage is Apple's channel under Apple's terms; Apple kills accounts showing commercial blast patterns. Mitigation = per-line throttles + low daily volume (vendor asks "how many leads/day" to shard across virtual iPhones) |
| 76% vs 37% response vs SMS | UNVERIFIABLE — vendor's own numbers on his own list. Marketing, not data |
| Per-line beats per-message pricing | TRUE only when conversations actually happen; one-way blasts are cheaper on A2P SMS per-message |

## HARD RULE for this account (user-agreed 2026-08-12)

Post-opt-in ONLY: meeting reminders (booked = consent), funnel form fills, email repliers, walk-in follow-ups, database reactivation after first contact elsewhere. NEVER cold-text strangers — TCPA exposure + Apple account kills. The tool is shaped like the law: conversations, not blasts.

## Cost logic

Replaces the per-message LC SMS meter, NOT the GHL subaccount cost. Break-even ≈ a few thousand segments/mo OR any month where reminder replies become real back-and-forth — which is the goal ("can we move to 2pm?" costs nothing extra).

## Setup sequence (when activated — not yet done)

1. GHL agency view (admin) → App Marketplace → Sendblue → install → select subaccounts
2. Subaccount → Settings → Phone System → Additional Settings → Telephony Provider → switch LeadConnector → Sendblue iMessage
3. Chrome Web Store → Sendblue extension (virtual-iPhone widget on contact pages; better UX than GHL's conversations tab; media + calls log back to Conversations)
4. Sendblue provisions virtual-iPhone line(s) — tell them daily volume + desired area code
5. Workflows: replace SMS steps with iMessage steps 1:1 (same copy/delays/triggers)
